Growth Charts!

I got the pleasure of working with two ladies down in Portland, OR making growth charts for each of them. One for her family and the other for a friends new baby! What a great experience, collaborating together to get just what they wanted.

If you are interested give me a shout! It's all up to you, color, wood, font, etc! :)

Start growing those memories!

Gone Fishin'

Cut Throat Trout

I was asked by my dad a few years ago if I would paint him two paintings of trout. At first I thought "what a weird boring thing to paint!" but was happy to do it because it was for my dad. Well lo and behold fish are actually amazing to watercolor! There are so many different patterns and colors in there scales that you cannot over do it! Fish ended up being one of my favorite things to paint... too bad there isn't a huge market for fish! hahaha

TEA PARTY!

Do you remember when you were a kid and loved having tea parties..? Well that love has never left me and even as an adult I still try to get friends together (even with a crazy amount of kids) to have tea parties! The time spent setting up a tea party is worth all the fabulous conversations and memories had with close friends...

These paintings were done as I was thinking about the next tea party to be had...

Love is in the Air!

Valentine's Day... a day singled out to show your significant other how much you truly care about them (hopefully not done solely on this date). This holiday seems to be one torn in half... Either you love it or hate it. I tend to love it because I like a fun reason to do something cute for my husband and kids and even decorate my house a little.

But at this time, where thinking of love is at the forefront of our minds... I have been noticing a bad trend in myself and our culture we live in... Love in our culture today is based on a "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours", kind of attitude. We tend to give love as much or as little as we receive it. We (myself included) tend to focus on what the loves in our lives are doing for US and how love can be improved for ME... we tend to be self centered with our love... but what if there was a different way...
Let's LOVE without terms and conditions this Valentine's Day! Start by putting your loved one first and for most and see how great it feels to just love without thinking of what you might get in return. ❤️

Birds of Encouragement!

I had the pleasure of painting some birds for someone special to give to a friend. I was very glad when all went well and she ended up taking more then just one. :)
On the other hand, it is still so scary to me, having people want what I used to keep to myself. Feeling inadequate is a tough hurdle to get over but something important to overcome because there will always be someone better then you, smarter, taller, thinner, etc.
My fear of inadequacy stopped me from painting for a longtime... "I know way too many talented artists to even want to try" was my thought. But with that came a feeling of unhappiness. By not trying I didn't use the talents and gifts the Lord had uniquely given me, I felt like I was telling the Lord that His gifts were not good enough.  I guess most of us have that fear of inadequacy in us... but I'm learning that the Lord has a pursue for each of us, our talents and gifts and He has given us just the right amount to make Me and You exactly the way He has created us to be. I guess you could look at our Lord as the greatest artist of all AND with that meansYou and Myself are perfect masterpieces!

What a refreshing thought!

Growth Chart RULES!

I love the Growth Chart Rule fad! The first time I saw it I knew I had to make one. It's a great way to chart the height of your kids without having to leave it on a wall in your old home knowing the new owners will paint over it.

Biggest decision with this project is finding the right font for your style and the right type of wood. Woods vary in price so it depends on how much you want to spend.

The end project looks great as a decoration in the house and also holds many memories!
Start measuring your memories today!

... grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory both now and for ever. Amen.

the Kitschy Kitchen Artwork

My mother-in-law gave me these frames because they match my kitchen perfectly! But what to put in it. Yes, i could have done pretty fruit and vegetables. Then I got to thinking... "what makes the kitchen function? What could the kitchen NOT live without?"... and I thought of the utensils that don't get near enough credit for what work they do. ;)

Thanks A Bunch!

Where the internet is taking over most ways of communication... I believe the internet cannot replace the Thank You card. Better yet, making your own Thank You card is even better, showing the recipient you truly are grateful for them!

An easy ombré watercolor look is easy to create. Make sure to take the edges tight so there is no bleeding making for a clean looking card.
